Bike Profiles: Travis Pastrana's Suzuki RM 250

Updated: Aug 21, 2023

You know the name but do you know the bike? Travis Pastrana was Suzuki’s golden boy throughout his entire career. Suzuki and Pastrana go together like cake and ice cream……except Suzuki decided to drop the cake. Pastrana is now riding KTMs but one of Pastrana’s most stand out bikes will forever be his 2003 Factory RM 250.

Suzuki’s two stroke line up, especially their RM 250 were some of the best bikes ever produced. In stock form the bikes had legendary status and team Suzuki’s Factory bikes were absolutely cream of the crop. Roger DeCoster is no slouch with testing and he was team manager at the time so details were very important.

Magnesium hubs, unobtainable lower RG3 clamp, works suspension, works tires and Team Suzuki spec engine work by Pro Circuit were some of the trick components not available to the public. “Team Suzuki’s RM250 is the best race bike we’ve ever ridden, without a doubt” -MXA.

That statement coming from MXA means something considering they have been testing factory bikes of the stars for decades.
